What happens to your information when you visit Gillette's Habitat Garden.
01
What this site collects
This site does not use advertising or tracking scripts. Like any website, the hosting provider keeps standard server logs, and it shows me aggregate counts from them: which pages were visited, referring sites, approximate country, and browser or device type. None of it identifies you.
The Bloom Gap Finder runs in your browser. Your plant list, bloom coverage, and recommendations are never sent to a server or saved as a profile. The PDF is built in your browser too.
The Wildlife page loads photos and records directly from iNaturalist, so your browser connects to iNaturalist when you open it.
Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer may use cookies or tracking on its own site under its own privacy policy.
02
Email, if you give one
You only give an email address if you enter it yourself: when saving your season as a PDF, or when signing up on the home page or the Field notes page.
The site passes your address to Kit (ConvertKit), the email service, with a tag for which form you used. Kit adds the signup date and records whether emails are opened and links are clicked. Nothing else is stored.
Your address is used to send the monthly Seasonal notes email. The PDF you requested is built and downloaded in your browser; it is not emailed.
Your address is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted completely, email tyler@gilletteshabitatgarden.com.
